What's new in CS6 Photoshop Tutorial

Adobe Creative Cloud only

Liquify filter enhancements

In the Creative Cloud update for Photoshop, the Liquify filter is significantly faster than previous versions. The Liquify filter now supports Smart
Objects, including Smart Object video layers, and is applied as a smart filter.
Another enhancement to the Liquify filter is an added behavior for the Reconstruct tool. If you hold down the Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS)
key while dragging the tool across a warp, the Reconstruct tool smooths a warp rather than scaling back or removing it.

Apply Blur gallery effects as smart filters

The photographic blur effects in the Blur gallery now support Smart Objects and can be applied non-destructively as smart filters. This feature also
supports Smart Object video layers.

Copy CSS properties from shape or text layers

Copy CSS Generates Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) properties from shape or text layers. It captures values for size, position, fill color (including gradients), stroke color, and drop shadow. For text layers,
Copy CSS Also captures values for font family, font size, font weight, line height,
Underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript, and text alignment. The CSS is copied to the clipboard and can be pasted into a style sheet
.

Conditional actions

Conditional actions let you build actions that choose what to do based on one of several different conditions. First, you choose a condition and
then, optionally specify an action that plays if the document meets the condition. Then, you optionally specify an action that plays if the document
does not meet the condition.

High dpi display support
Photoshop adds support for high dpi displays such as Retina Displays. Among the enhancements for working with higher resolution displays,
documents can be quickly viewed at 200%. To view a document at 200%, do any of the following:

1. Choose View > 200%

2. Ctrl-double click (Windows) or Cmd-double click (Mac OS) the Zoom tool icon.
3. Shift-Ctrl-double click (Windows) or Shift-Cmd-double click (Mac OS) the Zoom tool icon to view all open documents at 200%

Changes in view options
In the Zoomtool options bar and the Hand tool options bar, the button for viewing an image at its actual size has been renamed as 100%

Additionally, both tool options bars no longer have a
Print Size button. Additionally, the Actual Pixels command in the View menu has been changed to 100%

Review COPIC Markers

COPIC Marker is a professional system of eternal pens, allowing you to add multiple ink pens to your multiple ink. The inks surprised me very positively. They differ from the other markers that are currently available on the world market. Very nice to use them. First of all, they do not spill over the sheet. Even after the thinnest. Their color is saturated and the picture looks as if it was printed on the best printer. The number of colors is terrific great. Their base consists of 358 tons. That's a lot of ...

Interchangeable tips are also available, allowing us to change them. Different thicknesses and widths are available. - by this option we do not have to constantly use those that are in the original. This greatly expands the maneuvering field. The great plus of these markers is that they mix with each other. The effect of super color pass !!

 COPIC is a Japanese marker system used by well-known designers
And graphic designers around the world. There are 4 lines of markers:
Ciao, Classic, Sketch and Wide.
Each line has other advantages and is adapted

Review Sharpie Stained

Sometimes there is an experimental part that pushes me towards new experiences. The right "artistic" initiative usually comes down to the testing of drawing tools, but I was also exploring new ground for the position. Several times I happened to turn the paper into fabric. I admit that the effects of personalizing clothes, in each case bring great satisfaction. Typically, in mentioned targets for textiles (or acrylic paints) that are simply applied with brushes. Sharpie Stained, to whom I hope, will expand my experience in the matter of diversification and the revitalization of clothing. I present you a mini report from this meeting, I think will bring them closer to the sailors.
What is it and how it works.The Sharpie Stained Marker Test Kit consists of 8 very intense, vibrant pens. The color range is quite decent and allows for a lot of creativity. I have to admit that I personally lacked a bit more shades of colors, for example blue is strong enough to fall into blue, so it's hard to get blue. When using Stained, my biggest surprise was the manufacturer's termination as a "brush". After my previous experience with brush pens (see Pentel Brush Pen), I expected a soft, elastic tip, which, like a regular brush, reacts to the pressure of the hand and the angle of inclination of the item itself. Sharpie Stained brush does not behave in this way because it is hard and only minimal elastic. In fact, we can get lines of varying thicknesses, but mainly because of the skillful handling of the slope, and less because of the pressure. The tip itself looks solid and solid. The ink used in the markers quickly and easily cover the painted surfaces even in one layer only. What is important is that the dye penetrates to the other side of the fabric to a small extent, but it does not slow us down before proper protection of subsequent layers of clothing. The colors are really intense and expressive. The paint dries quickly, does not spill and does not smear. Because stained colors are not covered, their use applies only to light-colored textiles. The key question when painting on fabrics is color fastness especially after washing. So far the tested T-shirt has gone through just one wash (manual) I have not noticed any quality changes after this.

For whom? Summary.
Sharpie Stained are a great product for all creative and looking people. Thanks to ease of use, fabric safety and a range of expressive shades, you will be able to create unique and unique designs.

Pros:
Intense, vibrant colors,
Good quality, quick-drying ink,
Ease of use,
Robust performance.

Minuses:
No more variety of shades,
Less flexible tip.

Review: crayons Marco Renoir

This is actually the product of the same company, but this time with a more professional / artistic line. For those who have not read about Marco Raffine - a few words about the same manufacturer: The company has been in existence since 1992 and has its headquarters in Shanghai. Its products use ingredients from Japan and USA and its products meet the safety standards of toys. Do not worry so that you will get any suspicious radioactive substances.

Crayons I ordered from Aliexpress, where you will also find many other series from Marco (including in addition to those previously discussed Raffine, for example, watercolor crayons, and also available various packaging: cardboard and metal). The description at the auction did not say much, except that the crayons have an oil base (like Faber Castell Polychromos). I was tempted to buy because of the previous set (Marco Raffine) I am very happy and I think that for its price is exceptionally good quality. Renoir is available in an even greater color palette - up to 100 - and their graphs are 3.7mm thick, which is what other fine art crayons do.

At first contact with the crayons eyes enjoy a box with beautiful graphics at the age and in the middle, the size and shape reminiscent of a can of FC Polychromos. Inside, there are three plastic palettes with finger indentations to help them pull. I still think that the best and most practical solution is the loops of a string or elastic band, but here the discs are pulled out without much difficulty, so I have no reason to complain. At the highest level, apart from crayons, we also find two sharpeners, which I have to boast, because they proved more than decent in my work. The crayons themselves are quite exclusive - smooth wood covered with transparent lacquer with colorful tips and red "bands" (if I understand correctly, it is a distinguishing mark from watercolors that have blue stripes).

Triplus by Staedtler

Triplus is a triangular tassel from Staedtler, available in a pretty nice 30 color range. Shades vary between juicy and more subdued, but most of them are pretty bright colors and will not always work for line arts (the lightest can be simply covered with crayons or markers). Triples has a thickness of 0.3mm and for me it is sufficient, I used to use quite thin pens. Contrary to many tattoos, these have a soft, "fleshy" tip that perfectly fits on paper and gives you a lot of freedom when drawing. For comparison: Sakura Micron have too hard and sharp ends for me, which must always be set at the right angle or they do not want to draw and scratch the paper.
Tripluss are NOT waterproof. They are, however, resistant to alcohol-based ink, which is found in the Letraset Promarker, Copic, ShinHan Touch markers, etc. However, sometimes some colors (especially dark ones) may be smudged under intense rubbing with a marker. Lack of water resistance can be useful if you like to create different abstract things - you can boldly water with such pens and use them a bit like paint. Stabed by Staedtler.

 Advantages:
- large range of colors;
- available on art not only in plastic shops but also in stationery
- resistant to markers;
Fleshy tip;
- conveniently lay in your hands thanks to the triangular casing.

Disadvantages:
- no water resistance;
- big price: usually over $3 per item;
- the advantage of bright shades.

Overview: Koh-i-noor Mondeluz

For some time now I'm going to write two reviews: a comprehensive review of the various accessories I use for the linear and a crayon of Koh-i-noor Mondeluz. Unfortunately, the products for lineart have so much that writing a joint review will take a long time.

I will start with Koh-i-noor Mondeluz crayons, because I know some people were curious about my opinion on this subject. I have a very important information at the moment: I have a small set at the moment, just 12 colors, I have also had a bigger pack (24 pieces), but still not a full color range. I suppose, therefore, that my opinion is also shaped in a sense by the fact that I did not have the opportunity to know the full potential of these crayons.
Mondeluz is one of two series of watercolor crayons available in Koh-i-noor's well-known and widely respected product range. My impressions of these crayons are not the best. First of all, the colors available in the smallest set have astoundingly bright shades, which is compounded by the fact that Mondeluzy are one of the most pearly colored crayons I have ever had in my hands. Their graphite are thick, soft, greasy and "oily", and they have intense intensity of the devil. Even after smearing them with water they do not lose color! Someone like this will respond, they irritated me. For the same reason I was not happy with Derwent Coloursoft, Mondeluzy is not for me. Too soft, too greasy, crumble and poplar. I prefer harder pencils with which you can work more precisely.

Beginner Artist's Guide

I want to start creating! What to do, what to buy?

I would like to explain in this column a couple of issues that people may have trouble getting into the world of artistic creativity - these are issues that I myself struggled with a few years ago. I hope to clarify some of the intricacies of the topic.

First of all, let's start with the fact that the talent for drawing / painting / handicraft is really a small percentage of your journey as a creator. Talent makes certain things come to you a little easier, but even a bucket of talent is not enough if you do not add to it all the hard work cistern. The most important thing that will push you forward is continuous practice and not forgiveness in any way. Therefore, at this point you have to ask yourself whether you want to deal with a more "professional" drawing (I use that word conventionally, because it's not about drawing money and it's just a matter of approach) or is it just a pleasure for you. If you choose the second option, you do not have to worry about self-improvement, because it's just that drawing or painting is left for you to enjoy and relax. If you want to achieve perfection, unfortunately you have to struggle first of all with what is difficult for you; So if you can not draw your noses, then draw them to boredom until they are all right. If you are more comfortable drawing characters from the front, then draw a profile even if and a thousand times, because running away from things that make you difficult will lead you to never leave your comfort zone. For me, such as men's faces and more complicated anatomical positions, I'm trying to improve now.)

Second thing is materials. By looking at deviantart, you can often see the work done with super-fine and super-expensive products such as Copic markers or Leningrad watercolors, or brushes made from the hair of a one-legged squirrel hunted at full moon by a white-haired Asian. Perhaps you have been wondering or wondering if you need such products to create something good? Can the problems in the drawing arise not due to lack of skills and lack of appropriate artistic materials? At the same time, after starting drawing at the age of 11 or 12 years, you will not ask parents to spend $1000 per pack of markers, because simply neither you nor your family can afford it. (I'm almost 20 and I can not afford it!)

No. You do not need anything more complicated than the handful of pencils and a good drawing block at the beginning. Because you first have to implement it to draw regularly and work hard; Besides, mastering the pencil will make it easier for you to use crayons. Generally speaking, the more advanced your artisan technique is, the easier it is for you to learn the next kind of medium. This does not mean, however, that you should use the HB pencil and paper from the printer, because work so embarrassing and ungrateful will discourage you from drawing forever. So at the beginning of the steps we head to the nearest plastic shop or supermarket and buy a few pencils of different hardness - preferably with Koh-i-noora, either from Cretacolor or Faber Castell, just some good company (their price and probably will not exceed 2z艂 per piece And for example, a drawing block from Canson, which costs about $3. For that, a good eraser, such as Facts, which will not take the paper but decomposes it well. This way, at $20 you get with everything that you need in the beginning. After sketching five or even ten blocks, you probably want to reach for crayons to add color to your work, and you should do it! Because color work is super satisfactory. And again, you come up with something from the average shelf, not the cheapest crayons for $5, but you also do not break that you can not afford a set of Dervents for $500. It is important to get as large a color set as mixing colors is so much fun when you choose more crayons than 5 colors and black. A set of about 50 colored pencils gives you a chance to have fun with drawing and when you use it to finish, you will be much more advanced than the beginning, I guarantee!

It is very important to choose quality articles from the beginning. Not necessarily the most expensive, not necessarily the "artistic" level, but please do not let yourself be told that a good artist will create a work even with hopeless tools, because that is largely untrue. Yes, technology is more important than materials, but materials are almost half of your work! It can not be created using something that leads you to frustration and does not produce the effects you want.

It is important to gradually buy more and better things, because after a month of work in crayons it may turn out that it is totally not for you - and then what to do with it
But it is important to gradually buy more and better things, because after a month of work in crayons, it may turn out that it is not for you - and what then to do with this super expensive, which you bought with money from selling your own kidney on black market? It is better to give yourself time to get used to the medium. For example, 3 years ago I got into watercolors and I said that it was for me and that I would love to paint them. But I have always bought only a set of 12 colors from Karmanski (about $36), which serves me now because it is good quality and efficient, but ... I paint mostly on the background for my marker work, because it turned out that the virtuoso of watercolors, And yet in the shop I was one step away from buying the biggest, most expensive set they had! (Luckily, I did not have enough money, and I did not get the life savings in paint, so I would live under a bridge, sleeping with a box of watercolors instead of a pillow).

And now, my dear readers, pencils in hand and to do!

How to choose professional crayons

Polychromos Crayons is a well-known and widely appreciated product of Faber Castell, directed mainly to professional artists. It refers to a wide range of 120 shades. On the manufacturer's website we can read: "The Polychromos Color Pencils are comprised of vegetable oil, wax and the highest quality pigments with superior light fastness characteristics and brilliance" so that they do not leave on the top of the "dull" waxy layer. In addition, the graphite is reinforced (glued to the cover - the manufacturer calls it SV technology from the German word "Sekuralverfahren" or "secure gluing") to increase their breaking strength. The cartridges are also significantly thicker than the average crayons (3.8mm diameter! Faber Castell also reports that they do not use any harmful dyes.

Polychromes are exceptionally intense colors - you do not have to struggle to get a uniform and vibrant hue on paper. The range is selected in such a way that it also includes vivid hues (strong shades of yellow, red and so on), but also a lot of "broken" brown, gray, beige or olive green. This is a great set when you want to draw comic book-style works, such as portraits, landscapes or other works of nature. Because these oil cartridges blend well and are not a problem with overlapping 5-6 layers, an experienced painter can conjure even more colors out of this palette. My only complaint about coloring is that some shades of yellow, gray and red are too close together. I would give up for them to add some blue or fleshy ones.

When it comes to mixing with crayons from other companies, my observations show that they can be used rather smoothly with all tougher but already soft (eg Koh-I-Noor Mondeluz) can delaminate and make messy smudges.

Unfortunately, the problem is also that the Polychromes have rounds, and sometimes I have fallen out of the desk. Despite their really high fall resistance one or two have now broken graphite and are more susceptible to cracking. On the other hand, if you are working on a drawing for a long time, the round caps are more comfortable for the fingers, so it's both good and bad.

Crayons can be bought in sets of 12, 24, 36, 60 and 120 pieces
